Make mental health a priority

October 10 is World Mental Health Day — the perfect time to check in on your well-being and the well-being of those around you. These past several months have been especially tough as the COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on everyone’s mental health.

In honor of this international day devoted to mental health, take some time to care for your own emotional well-being and provide support to your coworkers and loved ones who might need it. Here are some valuable well-being resources to help :

  • Take the Are you emotionally well? assessment.
  • Use some of the resources available through the GuidanceResources Employee Assistance Program (EAP), such as counseling services and webinars, to help you and your family members cope with life’s challenges.
  • Do you have a loved one who’s going through a difficult time? This presentation from the Global Well-Being Resource Center provides some helpful tips and advice on how you can support them.
  • Try Koa Care 360, a cognitive behavior therapy program that’s fully digital and can help you manage your health, improve your mood and build resilience.
  • Taking care of all aspects of your well-being is important to helping you strengthen your resilience and improve your mental health overall. Our Healthy by Habit plans can help you build healthy activities into your daily routine. Find these plans on your personal dashboard.
  • Download a well-being app, such as Calm or Ten Percent Happier, and do some guided meditations or deep breathing to soothe your mind.
  • Read this article on how to Reduce Stress by Learning to Relax.
