Every year on September 5, we observe International Day of Charity, a global initiative that raises awareness and encourages charitable efforts around the world. Established by the United Nations in 2012, International Day of Charity remind us that our charitable actions have a big impact in our communities and in the world.
Here are some ideas to help others in our local communities:
- Volunteer in your local community at a food panty, homeless shelter or other organization.
- Fill a bag for charity. Look through your closets and storage spaces and donate unused items to a local charity.
- Set out a “Charity Jar” in your home or office. Encourage others to contribute loose change and donate the money to a charity.
- Raise money by walking, running or biking. Download the Charity Miles app to raise money and resources for your favorite charities.
Small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect and inspire others to pay it forward. Visit WellBeingAtAECOM.com for more ideas.
