World Cancer Day is held globally every February 4. This initiative was started by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to raise awareness, improve education and promote action to help reduce the worldwide impact of cancer. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), at least half of the world’s population lacks access to essential health services, resulting in many cancer patients being denied basic care.
