Join the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to honor World Cancer Day on February 4. The UICC takes the lead every year to raise awareness and advocate for initiatives to promote equality and integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda.

The theme for World Cancer Day is “Closing the Gap” — a bid to close the equity gap that barriers that many patients face when trying to obtain cancer care, such as income, education, geographical location and discrimination. Half the world’s population lacks access to a full range of essential health services, resulting in many people lacking basic cancer care.1

If you or someone you know is battling cancer, AECOM offers resources to help:

  • Take care of your mental health and build resilience throughout this trying time with Koa Care 360.
  • Get free and confidential counseling sessions for you and your family 24/7 with the GuidanceResources Employee Assistance Program. Register online or by phone.
  • Practice prevention by learning your risk factors for cancer and getting regular health screenings.
  • Learn about the health care benefits and coverage available to you in your country on the Global Well-Being website. Click on “Benefits” at the top of the page and select the country you live in.
