Meal Vouchers
AECOM Italy employees receive meal vouchers to assist with and cover the cost of the mid-day meal. The lunch vouchers are provided on an electronic card. Lunch vouchers will be issued for €8 per working day, even if working remotely. No lunch vouchers are given for days not worked (e.g., during public holidays, leave, time off or in the case of business travel when meals are reimbursed from a dedicated expense reimbursement account).
Company Welfare Plan
AECOM provides all employees with a Company Welfare Plan to enhance their personal and family well-being. This plan is designed to support the purchasing power of employees, granting them access to numerous services that cater to individual and/or family needs. The regulations for this Welfare Plan are distributed to employees annually.
Public Transport
AECOM encourages the use of public transport by providing a contribution for an annual subscription (subject to change).
Retirement (Pensions)
A state-run social security system covers illness, maternity, unemployment, retirement, disability and family allowances. This system is financed by contributions from both employees and employers, calculated as a percentage of gross remuneration. The contribution rates are paid by employees and the employer. However, the employer is responsible for paying both contributions.
The value of contributions is calculated as a percentage of the employee’s salary. On average, employers are currently required to make mandatory contributions of about 33% of the employees’ gross salary. Employees are expected to contribute 9.19% of their gross salary.
In addition to the National System, AECOM offers a voluntary supplementary pension. If employees decide to participate, they can contribute to only the severance pay (TFR) or an additional voluntary contribution. If an employee chooses to add an additional percentage as stipulated by the collective agreement or company regulation. AECOM’s additional employer contribution is 2%.
Work Accident
In Italy, it is compulsory to pay a national insurance contribution to the National Institute for Accidents at Work (INAIL) to cover all professional risks. This insurance protects employees against accidents and occupational disease. In the event of accident leave, an employee receives:
- 60% of their salary for the first three days (waiting period)
- 90% of their salary from the 5th through the 20th day
- 100% of their salary from the 21st day onward
As an additional benefit, AECOM provides 100% pay starting from the first day.
Non-professional Accidents
AECOM provides employees with additional insurance coverage for non-professional accidents. This is in addition to the compulsory occupational accident insurance policy. The non-professional accident coverage aims to protect all employees by providing compensation in the event of death or permanent disability resulting from an accident unrelated to work. Insurance for non-professional accidents is subject to the standard tax rate of 2.16%. The annual taxation will be calculated in a lump sum each year, appearing on the December pay slip.
Disability Insurance
Workers registered with disability, who are no longer able to return to work, are protected by economic benefits including incapacity benefits and disability pension.
Short Term Sick Leave
In the event of an absence from work due to sickness, the first three days are paid at 100%. From the 4th and 20th day of illness, pay is at 75% increasing to 100% between the 21st and 180th day. If an illness lasts at least 10 days, AECOM ensures 100% pay from the 4th to the 20th day.
By law, employees are entitled to a maximum of 180 days per calendar year. As an additional benefit, AECOM grants up to three years of unpaid leave for illness or serious family matters.
Marriage Leave
Employees who completed the probationary period are entitled to 15 calendar days of paid Marriage Leave. The leave can be taken from three days before and within one year of the wedding.
