Join us in celebrating the value men bring to the world and help raise awareness of men’s well-being for International Men’s Day (IMD) on November 19.
This year’s theme, “Zero Male Suicide”, is based on the third pillar. Worldwide, suicide rates among men are much higher than women. Thanks to efforts like IMD, greater awareness has been placed on this issue, and help for people at risk and improvements in mental health treatment have led to substantial declines in suicide rates over the last several years.1
For IMD this year, celebrate the men in your life and the impact they have on the world around you. Here are some activities to get you started:
- Donate to a cause associated with men’s health, like male suicide prevention. Nonprofits like the Face It Foundation provide support, public education and training for mental health professionals to help men face depression and take control of their recovery.
- Start a dialogue with your colleagues in the Global Well-Being Community and show your support.
- Send a Kudos to a male coworker thanking them for being part of your team (or just because!)
- Spend time with your family. Nothing says “I appreciate you” more than some quality time with the men you love.
