Manager Tips for Engaging Employees
Having friends at work makes a bigger difference than we may realize. In fact, according to Gallup, employees who report having a best friend at work are more likely to be engaged, and organizations that foster a culture of friendship and inclusivity are more attractive to job seekers and could see higher profits.
Super 6, the six-month global well-being challenge launching in July, is a great way for employees to connect by sharing their well-being superpowers and engaging in friendly competition with colleagues around the globe to Become a Super 6.
Here are 6 tips to engage employees in Super 6 and promote friendship within your team.
- Send this email in July to encourage employees at your location to Become a Super 6.
- Encourage early participation in Super 6. Hold an early bird story submission challenge within your team in July. You could offer a prize (e.g., a gift card) for the first three employees to submit a story and send you an email.
- Be a super leader by sharing your own Super 6 story with your global colleagues. Discuss how you personally used an AECOM resource to improve your health, safety or well-being to inspire others to share.
- Post this e-flyer on Teams group, on Yammer or on Ecosystem as a reminder to participate in the challenge. If you’re at an onsite location, post the flyer in common areas.
- Keep an eye out for new materials from your local Well-Being Ambassador and through your local communications channels each month with timely tips for Super 6 and activities tied to the monthly theme, and share with your employees.
- Include information and updates about the Super 6 in your team meetings and town halls.
- Keep the momentum going and encourage employees to continue submitting stories each month. Share stories that you see posted from employees on your team and encourage employees to vote for their favorites.
