With the vast majority of our business in Continental Europe now working remotely, it is essential that we stay connected with our teams and check in regularly on their well-being. We have found as a leadership team that using the video function on Teams has helped with this tremendously. Seeing everyone regularly face to face, and importantly how they are reacting and feeling, has helped with both engagement and ensuring the well-being of the team. I have also introduced video calls with my own teams, and start each meeting with a well-being moment to check that they are safe and well both mentally and physically.
While working remotely I have made a number of changes to my working day to safeguard my own well-being such as taking breaks from work. The highlight of my day is spending time with my 18 month old daughter and going on a long walk together – weather permitting in the UK! We have also made a number of small changes to our lifestyle to act more sustainably. One example is that all our fruit and vegetables are being sourced from a company that saves produce that has been rejected by supermarkets and would have gone to waste.
